Journal 10 - The new French president and French global politics

Nicolas Sarkozy promises that France will come back to Europe, and he called the USA a friend. Conservative Sarkozy, in his first speech after he won the French presidential electon, urged Frenchmen to unite around change and against intolerance. He made it understood that France will be a strong partner for the USA, which he called a friend. Simultaneously, Sarkozy urged America to lead the fight against climate change. He stressed that this issue would be a priority for France. Sarkozy said, “A great nation, like the United States, has a duty not warning but to take the lead in this battle, because the fate of the whole of humanity is at stake”. Sarkozy stated that the USA can count on France's friendship, but he added that friendship means that friends can have different opinions.
I would like to remind that he USA …and Australia didn’t sign Kioto’s Agreement; it can be a topic for a separate journal. Sarkozy reiterated France’s commitment to Europe, he stressed that he was pro-European for all his life.
Contemporarily, he said that the European Union must pay more attention to the fears of its member countries. Skarkozy called, “France is back in Europe today”. Also, Sarkozy called for the French to respect the ideas of defeated Segolene Royal.

I agree that the USA has a moral responsibility to the world, because of its political position, to lead the charge against global warming.
