Sarkozy’s Cabinet was trimmed to 15 ministers. I will make some comments on that Cabinet. The former defense minister was named as interior minister, and Sarkozy’s campaign advisor was appointed the head of the Justice Ministry. The former education ministry was split in two: ministry for research and ministry for higher education. However, the sport and health ministries were fused. Sarkozy created a new ministry of Immigration, Integration, and National Identity. The president named longtime friend, Brice Hortefeux, to lead this important ministry.
It is very interesting and a little strange, that Sarkozy has offered cabinet posts to several senior Socialists who campaigned against him. Most spectacular is that Sarkozy appointed Bernard Kouchner. He is a very interesting man. I will write about him in my next journal.

Yes, he sounds like a very unusual character. I think I like him. Until your blog, I didn't know anything about him!
